Hello,

We hope you are all well. I thought I would give you an update on the strategies and the risk assessment that we have put in place for Early Days Day Nursery in line with the COVID regulations. All our staff did a COVID course before the nursery re-opened to update themselves.

Upon arrival at the door, all staff members have their temperatures checked by a senior member of staff and they also have to scan the QR code for the NHS track and trace app.

When children arrive at nursery they are greeted at the door by a member of staff where their temperature is taken and parents/carers are asked if they have been okay and also if they have had any symptoms within the household, once these questions have been asked, we will take the child from the door and take them to their room. Parents/carers are not able to enter the building. Children’s and staff’s temperatures are checked every hour and are all logged down on a sheet. All children wash hands upon arrival and also at different times throughout the day for example before food, when coming in from outside (this is something that has always been done too, it hasn’t changed due to COVID).

We are asking parents/carers when they collect to ring the doorbell and wait outside the nursery and we will bring your child out to you.

We have staggered timings of children coming in and out of the nursery due to social distancing with the parents/carers outside the building.

If you are a new parent/carer and you are wanting to come and look around the building then we are doing them a little different, we will book you in at an allotted time, where you will come and scan the QR code, your temperature will be taken and you will also be asked to wear a mask whilst you are being shown around. We will also ask you to sanitize your hands at the entrance. Where one of our senior staff members will show you around the nursery and ask any questions that you may have.

If your child is doing a settle then again we will do the same process as a show around with the steps we ask you to follow, you will then sit in the parent area whilst completing the forms, if your child is really upset then you are able to go in with a mask on but only for 10 minutes. Unfortunately, this is something that we have had to do due to the guidelines. Our staff will be taking charge of the settle and making your child feel as settled as possible.

If you have any questions about this or would want to book in a show around then please call us or email and we will be happy to help.

Thank you for all your support during this tough time.
